Another year has gone by and here’s what I’ve used up for the year of 2015. I’ve just release the blog post for product empties 2014, its better be late than never right?
Make-up Remover & Facial Cleanser
Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil
I’ve mentioned this cleansing oil numerous times in my blog post and product empties before. This is my very last bottle for the beginning of 2015 and after finishing this bottle of MCO, I’ve been on the hunt for other alternative make-up remover. As of now, I’m using Biore Micellar Cleansing Water on days where I only wear sunscreen and Shu Umeura cleansing oil on days I’m wearing make-up.
Skin Inc Pure Trinity Cleansing Oil
SKIN INC Pure Trinity Cleansing Oil contains three unique layers of pure active ingredients that work in unison to gently and thoroughly cleanse the skin in one fuss-free step. The specially formulated cleansing layer draws impurities to deep cleanse the pores. The conditioning layer uses Japanese Cherry Tree extract to condition and soften skin. The booster layer contains Artichoke leaf and Saxifraga Sarmentosa extracts and Vitamin E to refine, calm and protect your skin.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a regular customer over at SKIN INC for their facial and my facial therapist always without fail used this cleansing oil as the first step of the facial. The lavender scent is comfortable and relaxing but not over-powering. In terms of cleansing power, It’s gentle and does a great job in removing all my stubborn eyeliner and mascara and does not require emulsify before rinsing off the oil. I might repurchase again but not any time soon as I would like to venture out to other brands.
Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash
I bought this when it first launches out and since it was during my birthday month, I got a member 10% discount and I never regret purchasing it. Half a pump is all you need to cleanse the entire face and neck and it cleanse pretty well. It lasted me about 8 to 10 months. I’ve already repurchase another bottle as backup.
Laneige White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser
This is my first time trying out Laneige cleanser and also, since it was my birthday month, I got to purchase this at a 20% discounted rate. I’d say it does a decent job in cleansing and like the name suggested, after cleansing, I felt my skin became clearer. But of course, all of these are just temporary. The bubble cleanser comes in a bubble pump type applicator and one full pump is enough for my entire face. Not forgetting, it smells nice and not over-powering.
Skin Care Story: Toner / Essence / Moisturizer / Sunscreen
I’ve started my journey with IDS since a year plus ago due to my terrible acne outbreak. 3 months into the products and monthly follow-up with my doctor, visible improvement can be seen as my acne is less flare. Of course, acne doesn’t heal and disappear within 3 months. It takes time for the product to work its magic. Besides diligently using IDS’s products, I also did Electrocautery treatment to remove the acne pus and was put on antibiotic medication for a month. My skin cleared up after 1 month on the medication but 2 months later, my hormones flare out of the blue and so is my skin. Hormonal acne comes and goes. But as of now, my skin has calm down a lot. I’m getting less angry acne and bumps. What are left behind is to deal with the acne mark.
IDS: T1 Purifying Toner
IDS Clinic T1 Purifying Toner is a refreshing and soothing alcohol-free toner that provides natural photo protection and anti-inflammatory benefits. It boasts botanical actives supplemented with IDS’s unique RsQ™ Complex and Acetyl hexapeptide-1 to protect and repair DNA damage caused by UV exposure and reduce skin inflammation. It comes with an innovative ‘micro-mist’ spray that ensures you get just the right amount of product without messy drips.
This toner smells rather pleasant and comforting and thanks to the micro-mist spray, it distributed the product evenly on my face. But half way through the product, the spray broke down on me. But nonetheless, the product still works perfectly fine on me.
IDS: C+ (C-Plus)
IDS Clinic C+ is an all-round achiever that tackles wrinkles, loss of firmness, patchy skin tone, dark spots and even acne. It boasts a new form of potent but stable Vitamin C (Trisodium ascorbyl palmitate phosphate – APPS), water-soluble Vitamin E and Fullerenes, delivering these actives deep into skin using patented Nanospheres for optimal skin penetration. Vitamin C provides superior antioxidant and collagen-boosting benefits, as well as skin-lightening effects. Vitamin E aids in skin repair while Fullerenes help dramatically smoothen wrinkles, thanks to its strong ability to counter free radicals. This product also works as an acne fighter by reducing inflammatory lesions and lightening acne scars through its melanin-suppressive effects.
This is one of IDS star product and honestly, I really love this product. It doesn’t have much scent and it really does help in brightening my face overall complexion. In terms of smoothening wrinkles, I cannot comment much on that as I’ve yet to see any on my face.
Dr Heng from IDS Clinic prescribed me with AA for lightening any acne mark or hyper-pigmentation and a little goes a long way. You just need to apply AA on affected areas and this cream will do its magic. Dr Heng also informed me that this cream can be applied on acne/pimple too.
IDS Clinic Spot is a powerful spot treatment product is highly acclaimed, and for good reason – it reduces and shrinks blemishes fast, in some cases practically overnight. Anti-inflammatory ingredients soothe and reduce redness, while promoting repair at the same time.
From the picture, you can already see how much I love love love this product. I go through this product very fast and as the product claims, it sometimes shrinks my pimple overnight but those more stubborn acne or bumps; it takes more time to calm it down.
IDS: Clear 10
Dr Heng from IDS Clinic prescribed me with Clear 10 as it helps with reducing redness in inflamed blemishes and acne scaring while preventing further breakouts. Clear 10 works well on my skin but the same words, it takes time for acne and scaring to heal.
IDS: S2 Sunscreen SPF 50
IDS Clinic S2 Sunscreen SPF 50 is a unique non-chemical sunscreen lotion boasts special titanium dioxide particles of a specific size. Not only do they block infra-red radiation, they also keep skin’s surface temperature stable even upon sun exposure. Vitamin C provides added antioxidant benefits.
I was being introduced to this physical sunscreen by my IDS doctor, Dr Heng. Initially I don’t really like this product mainly because we are too used to rub the sunscreen in and this physical sunscreen requires you to spread a thin layer over your face. But after I get the hang of it, I begin to love this product. The product is not sticky or uncomfortable on the skin and it felt smooth. Also, not sure if is because of the white cast, but whenever I applied this sunscreen, there’s this nice radiance on my face. But the downfall of this product is the packaging. I still have quite a bit of products left in the bottle and when I bring it down to IDS, the staffs informed me that I’ve officially “finished” the product. They told me quite a few people have feedback this issue to them and they are in the midst of re-packaging their sunscreen. They have no estimated date as to when the new packaging will launch but hopefully it will launch out soon.
Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum
Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Milk
I’ve mentioned Shiseido White Luccent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum and Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Milk in my product empties 2014. Click to view more.
Dove Nourishing Body Wash in Go Fresh
I’ve been an on-off user of Dove body wash and I chanced upon this body wash in Go Fresh, take a whiff and decided to purchase it. As the name says it, it smells fresh and I’ve been repurchasing this body wash.
Isoderm Liquid Cleanser
My family doctor introduced me to this body wash as I experience some skin sensitive issue some time back. It’s just a very basic pH balancing body wash and it does not irritate my skin.
Kiehl’s Creme de Corp Body Butter in Grapefruit
I have always wanted to try their body butter but don’t want to invest in a bigger tube. I chanced upon Kiehl’s body butter in a smaller tube when I went for their members’ event and immediately made the purchase. The texture of the body butter is slightly thicker than their body lotion and a little goes a long way. It spread easily but it takes a little while for it to absorb.
SunSilk Nourishing Soft & Smooth Conditioner
I received this Sunsilk Nourishing Soft & Smooth Conditioner as collaboration with SUNSILK pop-up salon back in 2013 and honestly, my hair felt bit soft and smooth. Overall, it’s a pretty decent every day conditioner.
Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Conditioner
After hearing much review on this brand and the use of Morocco Argan Oil, I decided to jump into the bandwagon to try it out and surprisingly, I really do like this brand. My hair does feel softer and doesn’t tangle that much. But as you know, I’m always on the hunt to try out different conditioner so most probably; I won’t repurchase it anytime soon.
VS Sassoon Premium Color Care Treatment
I got this for such a long time that I’ve totally forgotten all about it till I found it during my spring cleaning. So me being me that dislike throwing away still usable product, decided to finish it off. It still works perfectly fine on my hair, leaving it feeling soft.
Mucota Aire Veil Mask Treatment Aqua 04
Mucota Aire Veil for Straight 10 Oil-based Cream Type [out bath]
My hair stylist recommended me this brand and assured me that I’ll definitely love these products and true enough, I fell in love with it. Not only does it smell nice, it works in keeping my hair soft and smooth. The only downside is that the price is quite steep. Nonetheless, I’ll definitely repurchase it again.
De Lamo Beaute Daily Care AA Shampoo
This is also another product that my hair stylist recommended me since I dyed my hair. The shampoo is said to work well with coloured hair and cleanse the scalp without drying the hair and scalp. Two full pumps for very long hair is more than enough and it lathers well. Definitely will continue to repurchase it.
Eye Coffret 1 day UV Daily Contact lens – Rich Make
I chance across this brand while shopping and decided to try them since I’m looking for daily lenses instead of monthly and furthermore, the color and design is so natural. Surprisingly, it’s so comfortable and does not dry up my eyes. I’ve already repurchased a few more boxes for backup.
Opto-Pharm Buffered Saline
AO Sept Plus Contact Lens Solution
Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap – Vineyard, White Lily & Lime, Twilight Woods
I’ve mentioned BNBW hand soap in my product empties 2014 post.
Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy in Avocado olive & basil
I’m a huge fan of Crabtree & Evelyn products and definitely loving their hand therapy. I personally likes avocado and upon using this hand cream, it smells nice and does not give off any weird of unpleasant smell. It moisturizes my hand without feeling oily.
DollyWink Black Liquid Eyeliner in limited edition packaging
Dollywink liquid eyeliner is by far the best drugstore price eyeliner that I loved. It’s easy to apply and goes on smooth without feeling flaky or plastic-y and it doesn’t smudge on me after a whole day of wearing. I can’t use this liquid eyeliner on bare eyelid as it won’t go on smoothly. But instead, I’ve to apply some eye shadow on it before using. Here with me is the limited edition packaging in gold and red. Currently I’m trying out their brown liquid eyeliner and am loving it.
Shiseido Facial Cotton
I heard positive reviews on Shiseido Facial Cotton and decided to give it a try and bought my first pack of cotton over at Johor Bahru SASA as I can’t seems to find them at SG. Honestly, this is a very good cotton pad as compare to the usual drugstore facial cotton as it does not leave your skin with all the cotton flakes that usual drugstore facial cotton pads tend to do. I realize that SG Shiseido counters do sell them at $6 per pack for 165 sheets of cotton pads.
IDS: Lyco-White Oral Skin Supplement
IDS Clinic Lyco-White is a novel oral supplement with proven, powerful and patented ingredients that promise to unlock your beauty from within and provides all-round health benefits to your body as well.
Since the launch of their oral supplement that is said to act as an oral sunscreen and provides you with antioxidant benefits, I’ve been excited to give it a try. When I asked Dr Heng about it, he gave the green light for me to make the purchases. After the 3rd bottles, I can see a significant brightening on my overall skin tone and I feel confident going out to the sun without feeling that my skin will tan even more. Lyco White is quite costly as it is retailing at $150 for a month supply. 3 pills a day is all you need to get all the protection and benefits from it.
Just a disclaimer, this product does not make you any whiter or fairer by any means. It just give you the needed protection and benefits from the within.
