It has been about half a year since I last did a facial. I do have facial package outside with a well-known salon, but however, they have recently implemented the “no extraction” rules and boy, it definitely turn me off as I believe that getting all those dirt out of your skin, skincare products can better penetrate and work its benefits.
The last quarter of 2016 has been a very hectic year for me as my scope of work has been increasing; resulting in the stress level building up and this has taken a toll on my skin. Few days before the year of 2016 ends, I was blessed to be invited for a facial experience at Lynn Aesthetic together with Samplestore.
For those who do not know, Lynn Aesthetic is located at heartland of Kovan, right beside the bowling alley. Though it’s located at a neighbourhood area with no atas shopping mall, you will be surprise to know that they have established themselves for over 32 years with beauty services such as facial, body massage, slimming program, woman care, and IPL services. Not to mention that they have 10 different theme rooms for you to have your treatment.
Upon entering the salon, I was being wow-ed by the interior design as they have decorated the salon with Christmas vibes. Their friendly receptionist, Aileen, then proceed to offer me a cup of warm fruit tea while asking me to fill up the facial consultation card as to keep a record of the facial treatment that I’ve done, at the same time note my skin concern, while waiting for my facial therapist, Kate Tan, to attend to me.
After the completion of the facial consultation card, I was being led to my facial room at the second floor by Aileen. Who can resist the temptation to selfie in front of a huge mirror?
Here’s the stairway to the second floor. I like how they put the thoughts to decorate the railing as well.
Upon reaching the second floor, you are being greeted by the cozy corner where you can relax, have a drink or read a magazine while waiting for the therapist to prepare your room. The vibe from the first floor up to the second floor drastically changes!
Lockers were provided to safe-keep my belongings while enjoying the treatment here.
There’s also a vanity table for you to use after your treatment. Tissues, comb and even contact lens solution is available for you to use.
The room that I will be doing my facial was the butterfly room, also known as the VIP room. To be honest, I was a little taken aback by the size of the room as it was super spacious as compare to other salon I went to, and beauty products was neatly arranged too.
My facial therapist for the day is Kate Tan, the head therapist for Lynn Aesthetic. After reviewing the facial consultation card and have a quick understanding of my skin concern, Kate will be doing a Detox Facial for the Young and Trendy, which will be customised based on my skin concern and needs.
What the Detox Facial does is that it focus on the “self repair ability” that humans naturally have by accelerating the metabolism of the cell in order to recover the skin to its best condition.
These are the steps that I’ve experience in this treatment.
Cleanse & Tone
To start off in every facial routine is to cleanse the face to remove any sunscreen, makeup, and dirt. Instead of using cotton, Kate uses warm towel to cleanse off the cleansing products and also to soften the skin by using the heat from the warm towel.
After cleansing and toning, Kate proceeds to exfoliate my face using a gel type product.
Warm Steam & Skin Scrubbing (machine) – suction
Warm steam was used to further soften the skin and also to open up the pores for better cleansing of the impurities. While applying warm steam, Kate uses a sonic skin scrubbing device to further push out the Whiteheads. Next, Kate also uses a machine to suck out the soften whiteheads and blackheads.
Kate then follows by pimple extraction which many fear of. However, I do enjoy extraction not because I enjoy the pain, but because it gets all the dirt and junks out of your skin, leaving your skin junk-free.
Kate proceeds to trimmed and shaped my eyebrow and tidying up the loose hair around it.
Oxygenating Serum/ Detox Gel/ Collagen Whitening Serum/ Hydrating Gel/ Slimlook Gel (customize by skin)
Serum was applied on my face using a cold radiofrequency device. For my case, Kate has customized whitening serum for my uneven skin tone.
Lip, Eye care
Kate then follows by applying lip and eye products. This step is unusual for me as those facial I went to does not include this.
Oxygenating Night Cream, face, shoulder head massage
As I went to the facial in the late afternoon, I was instead given essential oil for face and shoulder massage. I got to say that Kate’s massaging skill is daebak!
Co2 Cream Mask
Kate then proceeds to apply hydrating mask all over my face and neck. This is the part where you have to play the waiting game.
Hand & Foot Massage
Given my past experience lying on the hard facial bed, by this time the back of my head should be quite pain. But what surprise me even further is that this is actually a massaging bed. To make things even more surprising, comfortable and relaxing, Kate proceeds to give me a hand and foot massage. I’ve never been to a facial treatment with foot massage given. I actually fell into a deep sleep short while later.
Toning – cream – sunblock
To end this awesome facial treatment, moisturizer and sunblock was applied on my skin so that I can proceed to go out without worrying about the sun ray.
So after my facial, I proceed back to the front desk to sign off. To my delight, they have prepared a cup of warm tea and fruit yogurt which I have forgotten to snap a photo of it. Here’s my face right after the facial. It looks more clean and brighter.
Overall, my experience with Lynn Aesthetic has been awesome. From the friendly receptionist to the facial therapist and their facial, I’ve nothing but praises. For those who are interested, the facial treatment that I have with Lynn Aesthetic is Detox Facial for the Young and Trendy, which is at $180.
